An Arias frame is an unique piece, handmade in Sardinia.

We use exclusively Indian buffalo horn, a natural, hypoallergenic, non-conductive material and 35% lighter than acetate.

Thanks to these characteristics, the horn offers unparalleled wearing comfort. Each piece is selected, worked and polished by hand and is completely personal like fingerprints and allows you to create non-repeatable glasses, with always different shades, colors and streaks. Once worn, the temperature of your skin will gently mold the frame to fit the contours of your face.

If treated with care, your Arias will age beautifully over time.

All of our horn is a sustainable, natural by-product sourced from domestic buffalo herds, raised free-range in India.

Your glasses come with a box, a protective leather case handmade by us, a microfiber cloth for cleaning the lenses, a protective balm for the horn’s care and the guarantee certificate.

Care instruction

Our frames are made of horn, a durable organic material that requires a little care to maintain its beauty over time.

Below are some tips for best preserving our frames.

We recommend treating the horn frame with the conditioner present in the package every 6 months.

The conditioner forms a protected layer on the surface of the frame.

1. Do not get the glasses wet, but clean the frame with a slightly damp cotton cloth.

2. Put the conditioner on a cotton cloth and rub the frame in gentle circular motions.

3. Remove excess conditioner and make sure there is nothing left on the lenses.

4. It is recommended not to wear glasses in chlorinated water, as chlorine dries out and bleaches the horn.

Do not place the glasses near strong heat sources or humid places for prolonged periods, such as inside the car in the sun.

6. Always store your glasses in a suitable case when you are not using them so that they are protected.

7. If you need to adjust your glasses, contact us or consult your trusted optician.

Optician’s guide

HOW TO PUT LENSES INTO AN ARIAS FRAME

The frames are handcrafted from real horn and therefore some special precautions apply when inserting the lenses.
Note: We recommend that you follow the guidelines carefully. The guarantee we give to our customers is conditioned by this. Should you have the misfortune of breaking or damaging them, it is your insurance that is responsible for the customer replacing them with a new frame.
If you have any questions, please contact us.

ALWAYS SCAN EVERY SIDE

It is important to scan both sides of the frame individually. Since the frames are handcrafted from horn, there may be small differences on the two sides of the frame. The grooves will always vary slightly on each side.

WHEN YOU CUT YOUR LENSES

It is very important that the lenses are not too large for the frame. We recommend cutting horn lenses -0.1 smaller than normal.
Horn cannot tolerate the lenses “stressing” the frame. If this happens, the frame material will begin to fall apart and this is covered by the optician’s warranty.
Our organic material works differently than other man-made materials. The horns do not expand, they function in the same material way as a metal eyeglass frame: their shape is constant.

HORN GUIDELINES

Real horn frames must be heated before carefully inserting the lenses. To do this, carefully heat the frame with hot air or a heating machine. Do this individually on each side before inserting the lenses into the frame, otherwise the frame may be damaged.
Now carefully press the lens into the frame and proceed to gently dry the water with a cotton cloth.

PERSONAL ADAPTATION OF THE AUCTIONS

Our rods can be adapted to the specific customer by heating them.
Do this by carefully heating the specific point of the temples with hot air or a heating machine and fold it behind the client’s ears. And then put it under cold water, to make it stay in the new proportion, you can do it again, just be careful not to exceed 180 Celsius (°C) / 356 Fahrenheit (°F).
